Groove

This post has to start with the fabric: a bourette silk double lacoste knit.

BOURETTE SILK: a coarse silk yarn spun from the waste that is produced in the manufacture of schappe silk; also produced from waste silk that is not suitable for spinning into schappe silk. The yarn is lumpy, irregular and possesses low elongation.
DOUBLE LACOSTE : a plain double knit construction based on interlock that repeats on six courses with every third row consisting in only knit stitches.

Hi there! It’s me; it’s been a while…. It’s not that I didn’t sew much this summer, if you follow my IG feed you know I made a couple of pieces!!! I didn’t blog about them because they are my own designs and patterns and there isn’t much to tell there … at least not for now.

Around here, fall is starting to firmly assert itself; temperatures are dropping and that makes Eli a happy dog - as a labrador he has a distinct lack of appreciation for hot summers. Sometimes we go for long hikes out in the fields sometimes we just go in my city’s Duomo square (you know which one.. the one so often featured in my pictures).
